5 millions de dollars
Le département américain d'Etat offre jusqu'à 5 millions de dollars de récompense pour tout renseignement conduisant à l'arrestation du président yougoslave Slobodan Milosevic, de l'ancien dirigeant politique des Serbes de Bosnie, Radovan Karadzic, et son chef militaire, le général Radko Mladic.
Ces trois criminels de guerre sont inculpés par le Tribunal pénal international de La Haye (TPI). Selon le chargé de mission américain pour les crimes de guerre, David Scheffer :
"Nous mettons l'accent sur ces trois inculpés parce qu'il est temps qu'ils comparaissent en justice pour les crimes de haine dont ils sont accusés.
Des affiches, disponibles dans des versions en serbe, en croate, en russe, en allemand et en anglais, seront mises en place dans les lieux publics, comme les gares ou les bureaux de poste. Elles donnent les coordonnées du département américain d'Etat, de l'ambassade des Etats-Unis à Sarajevo et des consulats américains.

Milosevic, Karadzic, and Mladic have been indicted by the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia for crimes against humanity, including murders and rapes of thousands of innocent civilians, torture, hostage-taking of peacekeepers, wanton destruction of private property, and the destruction of sacred places. Mladic and Karazic also have been indicted for genocide.
To bring Milosevic, Karadzic, and Mladic to justice, the United States Government is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the transfer to, or conviction by, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia of any of theses individuals or any other person indicted by the International Tribunal.
